Duties

Help

• Coordinates and submits the work count and budget formulation submissions for mission area/product line.
• Performs analysis on complex financial problems within the product line and prepares staff papers to support recommendations, solutions, and taskings.
• As financial analyst to the mission area/product line manager, identifies problem areas and recommends actions and taskings to improve operations, correct deficiencies, and prevent the future occurrence of problems.
• Collects, consolidates, and reviews data for Requirements Assessment Conferences (RAC). Coordinates with product line from horizontal perspective to validate work counts, work years and dollar requirements.
• Leads productivity discussions and target recommendations with mission area leadership to ensure supportable budget resource requirements are established.

Qualifications

One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-11) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.

Specialized experience is defined as: Provide expert policy interpretations and functional recommendations impacting agency-wide systems, procedures, and operations. Ensure budget data for across operations is accurately captured, validated, and utilized for consolidated resource management and financial analysis. Review and validated estimates for compliance with governing laws, regulations, and procedures, ensuring accuracy.

You may qualify for consideration if meeting specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.

Education is not substitutable for specialized experience at this grade level.

As a condition of employment, you may be required to serve a during which we'll evaluate whether your continued employment advances the public interest. This position requires you to obtain and maintain a Level 2 Certification under the DoD Financial Management (FM) Certification Program as a condition of employment. If you are selected, you will have to obtain this certification within two (2) years of your entry on duty in the position unless you are already in a position that requires a Level 2 Certification in which case you must complete the certification within the original 2-year period. Failure to become certified within the required time-frame may be grounds for removal from the position and/or from Federal service. • The Security Designation will vary and dependent upon position and may require a secret clearance or higher.
