Location: Burma Love Valencia (San Francisco) Position: Line cook Salary: $21.00 - 23.00 Hourly + Tips (DOE) Calling all foodies, the passionate, the inspired! Position Summary: This role is more than just a LINE COOK , it is the opportunity to join a family, and act as a brand ambassador for bridging cultures through food. Take our patrons on a culinary adventure through education, quality service, and make sure they have a positive experience at our restaurant! We are counting on you to be an extension of our brand. A LINE COOK is responsible for preparing high-quality dishes according to our restaurant standards while maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Job Responsibilities: Prepare and cook all menu items in accordance standards set by Executive Chef Follow restaurant recipes and plating guidelines to ensure consistency and quality Be a team player and work together with your team to foster a healthy and warm atmosphere Assist with food prep, including chopping vegetables, marinating meats and making sauces Ensure all ingredients are fresh and properly stored and organized Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to ensure a smooth service period Clean and maintain kitchen equipment and workstations Follow safety and health regulations in compliance with restaurant policies Attend all scheduled employee meetings and fill in for absent staff as needed Qualifications: Prior experience as a line cook in a restaurant setting is a plus Strong attention to detail and consistency in food preparation Understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a multicultural and diverse team Team player and positive attitude Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 20 + lbs Excellent communication and multitasking skills Comply with health and safety codes Ability to acquire a California Food Handlers license and Sexual Harassment Certification (before or within 30 days of hiring) A few reasons you will love your job: Opportunity to be a part of a growing and passionate company and team Unique opportunity to bridge cultures through food Access to path of advancement at Burma Inc Competitive salary Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K Employee Referral Program Employee Recognition Program Equal Employment Opportunities (EEO): Burma Inc provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, nation origin, age, disability, genetics and other protected classes.
