Job Title: Machine Operator Job Description

Prepare and operate plasma and oxyfuel burning tables with drill turrets for tasks such as cutting, drilling, and grinding. Understand specifications by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings, and work orders. Perform material setups prior to running the machine. Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and ensure adherence to safety requirements while maintaining certifications. Inspect machinery and finished products for quality assurance, perform daily maintenance on the machinery, handle materials appropriately and safely, and operate overhead cranes and other material handling equipment as needed.

• Follow safety requirements and maintain certifications.

• Perform daily maintenance on the machinery.
• Handle materials appropriately and safely.
• Operate overhead cranes and other material handling equipment.
• Lift up to 50 lbs and maintain physical fitness.

• Ability to run plasma and oxy-fuel CNC burn tables accurately.
• Experience with plasma table operation and/or oxy-fuel cutting.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and mechanical drawings.
• Familiarity with using measuring devices such as tape measures and micrometers/calipers.
• Experience with hand torch operations.
• Experience operating industrial CNC machines for heavy metal fabrication.
• Proficiency in using a tape measure.

• Experience with overhead cranes is a plus.
• Experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment.

Work in a 180,000 sq ft single steel fabrication facility, one of the largest in the Pacific Northwest. Our company is AISC certified to work on high-rise buildings, bridges, marine, and other structural steel projects, and holds an AISC Sophisticated Paint, Indoor endorsement QP3 (SPE). You will train on the day shift from Monday to Thursday with the option of a swing shift. The facility is equipped with advanced technology and provides a collaborative environment for professionals dedicated to excellence in steel fabrication.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tigard, OR.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $29.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Tigard,OR.
