THE POSITION Build your future as a Maintenance Repairman 2 with the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs at the Fort Mifflin Readiness Center. DESCRIPTION OF WORK This position supports the upkeep, repair, and safe operation of facility buildings, equipment, and grounds. As a Maintenance Repairman 2, you will perform the following duties: General Repairs: Perform maintenance tasks involving carpentry, painting, electrical work, masonry, and plumbing System Monitoring: Check building systems such as HVAC, alarms, generators, and automated controls Facility Upkeep: Maintain clean, safe, and functional interior and exterior areas Equipment Operation: Use and maintain tools and machinery needed for electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and grounds work Contractor Coordination: Assist with vendor communication and monitor contracted repair work Safety Compliance: Follow safety rules and report hazards or incidents to supervisors Work Schedule and Additional Information Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch period. Work schedule may change based on operational needs. Travel may be required. Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY Minimum Experience and Training Requirements Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities. Special Requirements This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License. Additional Requirements You must be able to perform essential job functions.
