Job Title: Production Planner The Production Planner (Scheduler) develops, maintains, and manages the master production schedule to support efficient operations, on-time delivery, and optimal use of resources. This role serves as the central coordination point between sales, engineering, production, and procurement to align customer demand with available capacity and materials. The position requires strong analytical capabilities, advanced Excel skills, and a continuous improvement mindset to drive process efficiency and support strategic production planning. Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and manage the master production schedule (MPS) to ensure efficient operations and on-time delivery. Coordinate with sales, engineering, production, and procurement teams to align demand with capacity and material availability. Monitor production plans and adjust schedules as needed to address changes in demand, capacity constraints, or supply issues. Use ERP/MRP systems to create, update, and track production orders and scheduling activities. Analyze data using advanced Excel and reporting tools to support capacity planning, forecasting, and inventory management decisions. Support and improve processes related to production planning, scheduling, and material flow within the manufacturing facility. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements that enhance throughput and reduce delays. Apply 6S and process improvement principles to maintain an organized, efficient, and safe production planning environment. Communicate production plans, changes, and priorities clearly and promptly to all relevant stakeholders. Manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines and customer commitments. Track key performance indicators related to schedule adherence, on-time delivery, and resource utilization, and recommend corrective actions when needed. Essential Skills Proven experience in production planning, scheduling, or supply chain-related roles in a manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of supply chain principles, including capacity planning, inventory management, forecasting, and logistics. Experience using ERP/MRP systems to support production planning and scheduling activities. Advanced Excel skills with the ability to perform complex data analysis to support decision-making. Strong organizational skills and familiarity with 6S methodology and process improvement practices. Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across sales, engineering, production, and procurement. Strong problem-solving skills and a results‑driven mindset focused on meeting deadlines and achieving operational goals. Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Strong time management skills and attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to maintain a positive attitude and take initiative in a dynamic setting. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in a fabrication manufacturing facility or similar production environment. Demonstrated success in driving process improvement initiatives within production planning or supply chain functions. High level of proficiency in Excel beyond basic functions, including data analysis and reporting. Strong initiative and willingness to take ownership of scheduling and planning responsibilities. Work Environment This role is based in a fabrication manufacturing facility with a large production department, providing direct exposure to shop‑floor operations and production processes. The position follows a first‑shift schedule, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., offering a consistent daytime work routine. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams in an environment that leverages ERP/MRP systems, advanced Excel tools, and data‑driven decision‑making to support production planning and scheduling. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Bardstown, KY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $75000.00 – $80000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
