Ability to qualify for a US Department of Defense security clearance required.This position is in-person.Toyon is seeking highly qualified software engineer candidates to develop software in the Python or C++ languages in support of artificial intelligence (AI) / machine learning (ML) applications. Our software engineers work closely with our researchers and customers to create state-of-the-art solutions.RequirementsCandidates for the software engineer position must have a strong background in engineering, computer science, physics, and/or mathematics. A minimum of an MS degree with some industry experience or a BS degree and at least two years of industry experience is required. Experience with software architecture and design, software development in a team environment using version control tools, and experience with Docker is required.Preferred skills and experience:An MS degree with at least two years of industry experience or a BS degree with at least four years of industry experience is desired. Experience mentoring junior developers and experience with Kubernetes is highly desired. Experience with reinforcement learning (RL), large language models (LLMs), computer vision, other AI/ML techniques, or video or signal processing is a plus.
