Lecturer/Senior Lecturer, Lawyering Program, Boston University School of Law Position Type Full-Time/Regular Salary $100,000.00 – $140,000.00 (based on departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training and internal pay comparison) Responsibilities Teach two sections of approximately fifteen to twenty students, delivering classroom instruction and providing individual feedback on writing assignments. Confer with students on major assignments and facilitate the feedback process. Collaborate with a research librarian and 2L/3L Lawyering Fellows to support each section. Attend program and faculty meetings, judge 1L moot court arguments, and perform faculty service to BU Law as assigned. Maintain curricular latitude in selecting assignments while aligning with program‑wide assignments and exercises. Qualifications Degree from an accredited law school. Prior legal practice, including judicial clerkships, is required. Excellent writing and analytical skills and a strong academic record. Experience teaching legal writing or strong interest in entering the profession. Benefits & Contract Four‑year initial contract beginning July 1, 2027. Voting rights on all academic matters and appointments for positions at the lecturer’s rank or below. Potential for successive long‑term contracts including presumptively renewable contracts.
