Role As a Literacy Instructional Coach, your day is dedicated to empowering educators and enhancing literacy outcomes through research‑driven strategies rooted in the Science of Reading. You’ll partner with teachers and school leaders in local schools, conduct classroom observations, model effective teaching techniques, and provide real‑time feedback to ensure high‑quality, standards‑aligned reading instruction. You’ll guide teams in analyzing assessment data to identify student needs and refine instructional practices. Your customized coaching approach fosters strong relationships with educators, celebrates their successes, and bolsters their confidence and skills. You may also offer virtual support to rural schools or prepare for upcoming visits. Qualifications Deep understanding of early literacy development and evidence‑based practices aligned with the Science of Reading (phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension) Strong knowledge of structured literacy frameworks and their practical application in K‑5 classrooms Familiarity with Georgia’s English Language Arts standards and early reading assessment tools Proven ability to analyze student data to inform instruction and support tiered interventions Experience coaching or mentoring educators, modeling lessons, facilitating planning, and providing constructive feedback Excellent communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with teachers and school leaders Strong organizational skills to manage multiple coaching assignments, track progress and provide consistent follow‑up Comfort using technology and virtual platforms to support coaching in both in‑person and remote settings A growth mindset and commitment to continuous learning and professional development Flexibility, initiative and the ability to adapt to various school environments and educator needs across Georgia To uphold our commitment to student, educator, and community safety, all consultants will undergo comprehensive background checks as a standard requirement of their role.
