Job Summary The Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing materials testing and documentation across Asphalt, Soils, and Concrete disciplines in support of FDOT-compliant construction projects. This hands-on role works closely with field inspectors, project engineers, and plant personnel to ensure material quality and specification compliance. This position offers a clear pathway to grow into an Asphalt Plant Inspector role for motivated individuals. Key Responsibilities Perform standardized laboratory and field tests on soils, and concrete materials in accordance with FDOT, AASHTO, and ASTM standards. Accurately document test results. Maintain, calibrate, and inspect laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance. Enter test data into laboratory Information management software. Identify and report any deviations, non-conformances, or quality concerns. Adhere to safety protocols and environmental compliance requirements. Schedule & Location Schedule: Full-time | Flexible hours based on project needs Work Location: Riviera Beach, FL 33404, USA Start Date: Immediate Requirements Qualifications High school diploma or GED 0–3 years of experience in laboratory work Ability to perform basic math calculations Strong attention to detail with good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently. Basic knowledge of FDOT, AASHTO, and ASTM testing standards is a plus. Valid driver's license required Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods in outdoor environments. Comfortable working in high-heat environments, including asphalt plant and field settings.
