Registered Nurse (RN) – Observation Unit Full‑time | 0.9 FTE | 12‑hour day shifts Sign‑on Bonus: $7,500 (Based on Meeting Eligibility Requirements) UP Health System – Marquette is part of Lifepoint Health. As a Registered Nurse (RN) joining our team, you will work in the Observation Unit to monitor patients for 24–48 hours, coordinate care, and provide education and advocacy. Responsibilities Planned care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments. Document patient care provided. Work closely with providers to ensure patients meet observation criteria, monitoring them for 24–48hours to determine admission or discharge. Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families. Assist patients with activities of daily living: personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation. Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and spiritual or psychosocial support. Evaluate learning needs of patients/families and provide appropriate education. Advocate for patients' physical and emotional well‑being. Qualifications Applicants must hold a valid Michigan RN license and an associate degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor’s degree preferred). Essential certifications include BLS‑HCP and ACLS (valid within one year).
