Service Transportation Manager at Enviri Corporation Under the general guidance of the Service Center General Manager, the Service Transportation Manager will lead a team of drivers, driver assistants, and dispatchers related to the transportation at a Service Center to support operational strategies that align with the company’s culture and long‑term goals to exceed our customers’ expectations. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Strategy: Provide support to the service center by coaching and developing employees within the department through continuous coaching and feedback on performance, conduct performance appraisals for direct reports, align with company goals and regulatory requirements. Make recommendations on salary adjustments, promotions, and dismissals in partnership with HR and district managers. Participate in recruitment and hiring of service center transportation employees and drivers. Conduct regular meetings such as daily tailgate talks and monthly safety committee meetings. Provide on‑the‑job training and instruction to ensure training compliance. Provide technical support to transportation staff and assist in content development and deployment of technical training. Keep up to date on regulations and industry developments. Safety, Security, & Compliance: Promote safety and security initiatives across the team. Enforce and monitor safety rules and practices to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all employees. Report and respond to service center incidents, identify causes, review and amend procedures, and communicate findings to employees and management. Ensure employees are knowledgeable about hazards and take necessary precautions. Conduct crew safety meetings, provide and maintain compliance with personal protective equipment, and train safety protocols and compliance measures to ensure operational efficiency and regulatory adherence. Customer Experience Management: Assist the Service Center General Manager with supporting the sales department in onboarding new accounts, responding to inquiries, and maintaining existing customer relationships. Collaborate with the commercial team to assist the Order Management Specialist in resolving open orders and service issues, updating records accordingly. Drive superior customer satisfaction through team performance with adherence to customer SLAs and KPIs, acting urgently to resolve issues and support business growth. Operational Excellence: Communicate continual improvement of productivity standards and team member safety in all phases of the operation in accordance with goals. Oversee route management processes, ensuring alignment with company goals and safety and regulatory requirements. Provide oversight of route scheduling, redirect manpower and resources as required, manage driver debrief processes, ensure documentation for each customer transaction, update route comments, perform ride‑alongs and spot checks, and conduct audits of equipment. Service Center Management: Administer service center management processes, ensuring alignment with company goals and regulatory requirements related to facilities, inventory supplies, and asset management. Complete daily yard walks and equipment audits to ensure compliance. Assign work to employees and supervise activities throughout the shift, monitor productivity, report on trends, and recommend changes for maximum effectiveness. Review and approve payroll hours, manage staff in cooperation with HR, and provide input to P&L management. Monitor 10‑day management processes and standing, ensure drivers are operating to DOT regulations, and oversee vehicle and driver documentation such as DQFs, DOT logs, and VCRs. Work Environment: Wear company‑provided personal protective equipment, travel by automobile or public transportation up to 20% of the time, maneuver around heavy equipment, lift up to 50 pounds, execute key initiatives and activities hands‑on, pass a DEA background check when relevant, and abide by Clean Earth’s core values and code of conduct. Qualifications Basic Requirements: Must pass a DEA background check. Must have a valid driver’s license. Ability to wear PPE, high school diploma or GED. Minimum 5 years experience in hazardous waste industry. Minimum 3 years management experience. (or Bachelor’s degree in engineering or bio sciences, minimum 2 years hazardous waste industry, minimum 2 years management experience.) Preferred Requirements: Commercial B driver’s license. General knowledge of RCRA and DOT regulations related to transportation and processing of waste. 40‑hour Hazwoper course completion. Basic skills using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint). Must work efficiently and independently in a fast‑paced environment. Maintain integrity and professionalism and resolve problems.
