Travel Respiratory Therapist - Registered RT/RRT

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with travel experience and Draeger vent proficiency for a 13-week night shift contract at a Level II Trauma acute care hospital in Bridgeport, CT.

Job Details

• Short-term acute care hospital with 426 staffed beds, part of the Yale New Haven Health System,
• Level II Trauma Center,
• Respiratory therapy unit with rotation through all areas of the hospital, including NICU and Pediatric units, based on census and staffing needs,
• Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM),
• Every other weekend required,
• Holiday coverage required,
• Float between main campus and Milford campus as needed,
• Charting via Epic (experience required),
• Free parking on site,

Job Requirements

• Current RRT or CRT certification required,
• Active state respiratory therapy license required if applicable,
• BLS required,
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience,
• Level II Trauma Center experience required,
• Draeger ventilator experience required,
• Prior travel assignment experience required,
• NICU experience preferred but not required,
• Must live more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates; local candidates are not eligible for this position,

Additional Information

• Travelers may be asked to orient students or new hires as needed,
• Travelers are expected to rotate through all hospital units, including NICU and Pediatric, based on census and staffing needs,
• NICU experience working with neonatal oscillating vents and high-frequency jet vents is a plus,
• Flu vaccine is required; declinations are not accepted,
• COVID vaccine with booster required; religious and medical exemptions are accepted,
• Former permanent staff must have a gap of at least 2 years before being considered as a traveler,
• Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved; all RTO requests must be finalized prior to offer acceptance, as additional RTO will not be approved after acceptance,
• Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities if called upon,
