JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Gastroenterologist • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Longview, TX • Service Setting: Inpatient • Coverage Type: Call Only • Coverage Period: Aug 21, 2026 – Sep 08, 2026 • On-Call Shift Schedule: 24-hour call coverage ;7a – 7a • Call Type: Beeper • Call Response Time: 30 minutes COVERAGE DATES • Aug 21, 2026 – Aug 25, 2026 • Sep 04, 2026 – Sep 08, 2026 PATIENT INFORMATION • Admissions: Required • Case Mix: Gastroenterology – inpatient consults, ED consults, and transfers FACILITY INFORMATION • Trauma Level: Level 3 • EMR System: Athena / Medhost • Support Staff Available: PA/NPs: 1 m-f • Reason for Coverage: Vacation PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Temporary Privileges Available: Yes COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES Required: Upper GI endoscopy (with biopsy, with foreign body removal, with fulguration of bleeder (cautery vs. laser), With injection of varices, Diagnostic, Therapeutic, With PEG (percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy)) Esophageal dilatation/manometry (Esophageal manometry interpretation) Small Bowel biopsy Lower GI endoscopy (Sigmoidoscopy (Flexible, Rigid), Colonoscopy (with biopsy, with excision of polyp)) Liver biopsy Insertion/management of Sengstaken/Blakemore tube Preferred: ERCP (endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography) Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) JOB REQUIREMENTS • Licenses: Licensed in TX • Board: Certified in Gastroenterology • Certifications: ACLS • Other Qualifications: Fellowship required DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide inpatient gastroenterology call coverage • Manage ED consults and patient transfers • Perform advanced GI procedures including endoscopy and ERCP • Handle admissions related to GI cases • Respond within required call response time About Adelphi Locums Adelphi Locums, a brand of Adelphi Staffing, provides locum tenens staffing solutions for healthcare facilities across the U.S., connecting them with qualified physicians, advanced practitioners, and other medical professionals for temporary coverage needs. 1727350EXPPLAT
