Maintenance Manager

Relocation: Relocation assistance provided Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations at a metal extrusion manufacturing facility in Indiana. This is a hands‑on leadership role responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of manufacturing equipment while supporting production goals. The ideal candidate will have strong metal extrusion manufacturing experience along with a solid background in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC, and preventive maintenance systems. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage day-to-day maintenance operations within a metal extrusion manufacturing environment. Supervise, develop, and provide direction to maintenance personnel while maintaining accountability and performance standards. Plan, prioritize, assign, and monitor maintenance work based on production requirements and equipment priorities. Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated manufacturing equipment. Support extrusion presses, production equipment, facility systems, and related manufacturing machinery. Develop, implement, and maintain effective preventive and predictive maintenance programs. Troubleshoot and support PLC systems, controls, and automated equipment. Identify recurring equipment problems and implement root‑cause and corrective actions to reduce downtime. Coordinate equipment repairs, upgrades, modernization projects, and continuous improvement initiatives. Partner closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and other departments to maintain reliable manufacturing operations. Ensure maintenance activities follow applicable safety, quality, and operational standards. Manage maintenance priorities during equipment breakdowns and production‑critical situations. Support maintenance planning, scheduling, work‑order management, and spare‑parts requirements. Participate in an on‑call rotation and provide support for urgent equipment issues when required. Promote a culture focused on safety, equipment reliability, productivity, and continuous improvement. Required Qualifications 5+ years of maintenance leadership/management experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong experience in Metal extrusion, metal extrusion, or a closely related metal manufacturing environment. Strong hands‑on troubleshooting experience with electrical and mechanical systems. Experience with PLC troubleshooting and industrial controls. Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Strong leadership, problem‑solving, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment and prioritize maintenance activities according to production needs. Ability to read and understand electrical/mechanical drawings and prints. Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered. Preferred Experience Extrusion press and production equipment experience. Metal finishing/manufacturing experience. Experience with equipment reliability and downtime reduction. Welding and fabrication experience. Experience working with overhead crane systems. Experience troubleshooting or programming PLC systems. Experience with industrial pumps and hydraulic equipment.
