Controller# ControllerBlue Sage Services LLC - Beaver, OK 73932; Blue Sage Services, LLC (Stillwater) - Stillwater, OK 74074## OverviewPosition TypeFull Time## Description**Controller****Position Summary**The Controller is responsible for leading the day-to-day accounting and financial operations of Blue Sage Services, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of all financial information. This role oversees the monthly close process, maintains strong internal controls, and delivers reliable financial data that supports executive decision-making, project performance, forecasting, and cash flow management. The Controller partners closely with operations to ensure job cost accuracy, strengthen financial discipline, and provide meaningful insight into the financial health of the business.---**Essential Duties & Responsibilities****Month-End Close & Financial Reporting*** Own the monthly close calendar and drive consistent, reliable closing timelines.* Maintain the general ledger, chart of accounts, and all account reconciliations (cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, accruals, fixed assets, and debt).* Record and review journal entries, including percentage-of-completion and over/under-billing entries tied to the WIP schedule.**Project Cost Accounting & WIP Management*** Own the mechanics of the WIP schedule: verify cost-to-date, validate billings, and post the resulting over- and under-billing adjustments each period.* Partner with Project Managers on the cost-to-complete process, securing realistic, forward-looking estimates rather than simple budget-minus-spent calculations.* Reconcile job-cost detail to the general ledger so that the WIP ties cleanly to the financial statements.* Identify and flag margin fade, mis-coded costs, and emerging project risk before it impacts reported results.* Support the monthly project performance review and post-mortem process with accurate, timely actuals.**Cash, Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable*** Oversee accounts receivable, billing accuracy, and collections, with attention to maintaining a healthy billed-to-cost position.* Oversee accounts payable, vendor terms, and disbursement timing to optimize the company’s working capital position.* Manage the daily cash position and bank reconciliations.* Provide the clean inputs — AR aging, AP aging, billing timing, and payroll outflows — that drive the 13-week cash flow forecast.**Payroll, Compliance & Internal Controls*** Oversee payroll processing and related tax filings, including certified payroll where applicable.* Manage sales and use tax, business licenses, 1099 filings, and other regulatory requirements.**Leadership & Team Development*** Lead, coach, and develop members of the accounting department, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and Staff Accounting personnel.* Build the operational capacity that allows financial leadership to focus on strategic priorities.* Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, continuous improvement, and teamwork.* Build organizational capacity that supports the long-term growth of Blue Sage Services.---**Knowledge, Skills & Abilities*** Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.* Thorough understanding of construction accounting, job cost accounting, and percentage-of-completion accounting.* Strong knowledge of Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting.* Experience with accounting ERP systems and financial reporting software.* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis.* Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.* High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.* Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.* Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.* Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.* Demonstrated leadership and employee development skills.---**Qualifications*** Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.* Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience.* Minimum of 3 years in a Controller or senior accounting leadership role preferred.* Construction, heavy civil, or project-based accounting experience strongly preferred.* Experience with percentage-of-completion accounting and project cost accounting preferred.## Qualifications**Qualifications*** Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.* Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience.* Minimum of 3 years in a Controller or senior accounting leadership role preferred.* Construction, heavy civil, or project-based accounting experience strongly preferred.* Experience with percentage-of-completion accounting and project cost accounting preferred.---**Blue Sage Services Core Expectations**Every Blue Sage Services employee is expected to:* Lead with integrity and uphold the company's Core Values.* Demonstrate stewardship by treating company resources as their own.* Communicate openly, professionally, and respectfully.* Prioritize safety in every decision and action.* Support teammates and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.* Represent Blue Sage Services professionally with customers, vendors, and fellow employees.* Take ownership of individual performance while contributing to the success of the entire team.* Pursue opportunities for personal growth, leadership development, and operational excellence. #J-18808-Ljbffr Priority Dispatch Corp.
