A wonderful opportunity awaits for skilled Registered Nurses seeking school-based experience in a dynamic educational setting. This contract position spans 12 weeks, covering a maternity leave at a high school, with the potential for extension. You'll be working full-time, following the regular school day schedule from 7:00 AM to 2:30 PM.


Situated in the vibrant Wheaton/Aurora, IL area (zip: 60187), you'll play a vital role supporting student wellbeing and collaborating with other healthcare professionals within the school community.


Key Qualifications:

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license (no LPNs for this role)
• Prior school nursing experience required
• Submission of current RN license/certification and resume
• Experience with high school student populations preferred

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct professional nursing services, including first aid, emergency response, illness care, and health assessments in compliance with school policy and industry standards
• Accurately administer and document medication, maintaining secure storage at all times
• Support Certified School Nurse with student and staff wellness programs and assist in projects like collecting health action plans
• Partner with health aides to keep the health office running smoothly
• Regularly check AED devices in the school and communicate any concerns or needs for maintenance
• Maintain and update all mandated student health records, ensuring state compliance for immunizations, exams, and conditions
• Serve as a mandated reporter, making prompt referrals when there are concerns of abuse or neglect
