QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or equivalent work experience is required.
- Financial accounting and reporting with 0 to 2 years of experience. 2 years of experience in the life insurance industry preferred.
- Knowledge of GAAP and STAT accounting and experience with reconcilliations, journal entries, and financial reporting process preferred.
- Able to participate with cross-functional initiatives and collaborate amongst numerous partnerships.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- High professional and ethical standards in the application of accounting principles and government regulations.
- Ability to be a part of a team of motivated professionals, and to handle multiple tasks.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and record journal entries and maintain accurate ledger accounts.
- Prepare GAAP and STAT investment accounting entries and supporting schedules.
- Support quarterly and annual financial reporting, audits, and regulatory examinations.
- Research investment transactions and document accounting conclusions.
- Ensure compliance with insurance accounting guidance and company investment policies.
Regular and reliable attendance and punctuality is an essential function of this position.
