This team member will gain experience in tax compliance and consulting services specific to State and Local Taxes. State and Local Tax Associates' primary responsibilities include working on complex indirect tax audits, managed audits, and recovery of tax overpayments (reverse audits), preparing complex tax research projects for clients in diverse industries, and researching and analyzing a wide range of tax issues and tax implications.The ideal candidate is a team player who exhibits initiative, communicates effectively, and manages multiple concurrent assignments of varying sizes and complexity. A Weaver Associate enjoys flexibility, meaningful client work, and a supportive and innovative work environment.To be successful in this role, the following qualifications are required:Bachelor's degree in accounting or related fieldExcellent written and verbal communication skillsTeam orientation and strong interpersonal skillsStrong project management skillsAdditionally, the following qualifications are preferred:Master's degree in Accounting or related fieldCPA Candidate, CPA or CMI in progress or completeInternship or light experience in public accountingExperience in one or more of the following areas is a plus:Sales & Use TaxProperty TaxState Income and Franchise TaxWeaver Benefits: At Weaver, our most valuable resource is our people.
