Phlebotomy Technician Lead Faculty Instructor Location: Phoenix, AZ | On-Site Type: Full-Time Department: Phlebotomy Technician Program Compensation: $21.57 – $26.96 per hour Position Summary Pass on your knowledge and shape the next generation of phlebotomy experts! Pima Medical Institute is seeking a skilled Phlebotomy Technician Lead Faculty Instructor to guide, inspire, and mentor future healthcare professionals. In this leadership role, you will oversee program curriculum adherence, coordinate classroom and lab instruction, mentor faculty, and ensure our phlebotomy students are fully prepared for clinical externships and field success. Key Responsibilities Program Leadership & Curriculum Oversight Curriculum & Accreditation: Oversee implementation of the program curriculum; collaborate with the Assistant Dean of Faculty (ADF) on accreditation documentation, meeting agendas, and Program Effectiveness Plan (PEP) annual updates. Advisory & Community Engagement: Facilitate Advisory Board meetings to communicate externship feedback, student progress, programmatic outcomes, and community satisfaction to campus leadership. Supply & Lab Management: Oversee lab supply inventory and ordering; partner with ADF to maintain proper instructor-to-student lab ratios. Faculty & Student Support: Assist with onboarding and mentoring new faculty, support hybrid didactic communication, and track graduate certification pass rates as needed. Instructional Delivery & Student Guidance Instruction & Assessment: Design and deliver lesson plans utilizing diverse teaching methods; evaluate and grade student coursework and practical exams within 72 hours. Externship Coordination: Conduct on-site externship site qualifications, midpoint student visits, and supervise externship progress in partnership with Career Services. Student Retention & Advising: Maintain regular office hours to advise students; document academic or behavioral concerns, alerting leadership within 24 hours of any incidents. Campus Life: Participate in faculty meetings, advisory boards, graduations, and professional development opportunities. Minimum Requirements Education: Graduation from an accredited Phlebotomy Technician program recognized by USDE or CHEA (or a recognized entity such as a hospital-based program); OR A minimum of four (4) years of job-related training and experience for non-graduates of an accredited program. Field Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of occupational experience as a Phlebotomist or in a closely related field. Licensure & Credentials: Active license, certification, or designation as required by local, state, or federal laws to work in the phlebotomy field. Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Docs, and basic computer applications. Preferred Qualifications Three (3) years of teaching experience in the subject field. Working knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.
