PCU RN - Progressive Care Unit

$30-$43 per hour

Full-Time | Days or Nights

Gainesville, Florida

MASC Medical is working with a Hospital group hiring experienced PCU RNs for permanent, full-time opportunities with a leading acute-care hospital in Gainesville.

Both day and night shifts are available. This position is ideal for an RN who enjoys caring for higher-acuity patients who require closer monitoring than a traditional medical-surgical unit while working with a supportive interdisciplinary team.

What You’ll Do

• Provide direct nursing care to progressive care and stepdown patients
  
• Assess patients at admission and throughout each shift
  
• Closely monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and changes in condition
  
• Administer medications and evaluate patient responses
  
• Recognize clinical deterioration and respond quickly
  
• Develop and update individualized plans of care
  
• Coordinate care with physicians, specialists, therapists, and other clinical team members
  
• Educate patients and families about medications, procedures, and recovery
  
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
  
• Support safe transitions between the ICU, PCU, and medical-surgical units
  

What We’re Looking For

• Current Florida RN license or active multistate compact RN license
  
• At least one year of RN experience
  
• Recent acute-care hospital experience
  
• PCU, Stepdown, Telemetry, Cardiac, or Intermediate Care experience preferred
  
• Current BLS certification
  
• ACLS certification or ability to obtain it within 90 days of starting
  
• ADN or nursing diploma required
  
• BSN preferred
  
• Strong assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills
