Finance Controller – Chatsworth, CA Ontic is inviting qualified candidates to join our fast‑paced team as Finance Controller. Job Summary The Finance Controller will oversee the accounting function for the Chatsworth, CA site, managing a team of 15 and ensuring accurate, compliant financial reporting while supporting business strategy. Responsibilities Day‑to‑day management of the accounting function, including overseeing the Accounting Manager, AP and AR leads, and Finance Graduates. Provide overall responsibility for a team of 15, ensuring timely month‑end close, reconciliation completion, and accurate general ledger maintenance. Lead the AP team in partnership with Supply Chain and Planning to optimize supplier performance and the payables process. Lead the AR team, collaborating with Commercial to minimize overdue amounts and time invoice generation. Produce clear, insightful management reporting that supports agile decision‑making. Own the working capital process, including accurate forecasting and presentation to senior management. Maintain technical understanding of US GAAP and handle complex accounting requirements at period‑end. Identify process improvement opportunities and collaborate with other departments for more efficient, data‑accurate processes. Lead the external and internal audit process for the site, reporting to the Finance Director. Engage with licensors to ensure accurate revenue and cost recording through Transition Services Accounting periods. Drive integration of finance process improvements and maintain key controls. Develop robust inventory controls, including cycle counting, aged WIP, and defective material reporting. Support the annual review of strategic planning and budgeting, working with senior management on headcount and working capital initiatives. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; MBA is a plus. CPA credential is mandatory. 5‑7+ years of progressive financial experience. Prior experience as a controller is required. Experience in a manufacturing (aerospace) environment is desirable. Experience in a fast‑paced environment. People‑management and development experience. Strong ability to work with and present to senior management, driving actionable outcomes. Familiarity with export‑control compliance and U.S. Person definition required.
