Registered Nurse – Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract (13 Weeks) | Full-Time | Onsite | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 36 Hours Per Week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 12-bed Cardiovascular ICU managing post-operative cardiac patients, AMI, cardiogenic shock, and induced hypothermia cases
• Maintain patient ratios of 2:1 for CRRT and 1:1 for Impella support
• Perform and assist with frequent cardioversions, line placements, and line discontinuations within the unit
• Operate and monitor advanced hemodynamic devices including Swan-Ganz catheters and Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps (IABPs)
• Float to other inpatient units as needed, primarily within critical care and acute care clusters
• Adhere to weekend rotation requirements (every 2–3 weekends, Friday through Sunday) and every-other-holiday scheduling

Required Qualifications

• Active Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience with a cardiac focus
• Demonstrated proficiency with Swan-Ganz catheters, IABPs, and post-operative cardiac patient management
• Ability to work independently, manage tasks efficiently, and adapt to change in a fast-paced critical care environment

Preferred Experience / Skills

• CCRN certification
• Experience charting in EPIC
