The Metal Building Erector role at Steelworx is a full-time onsite position on projects along the east coast and Midwest. Day-to-day responsibilities include assembling and erecting pre-engineered metal building components, reading and interpreting blueprints, laying out building framing, and installing structural steel, wall panels, and roofing systems. The role involves operating hand and power tools, assisting with rigging and lifting operations, and ensuring all work complies with safety standards and project specifications. Metal Building Erectors collaborate closely with site supervisors and crew members to maintain productivity, quality, and cleanliness on the job site, and may help with basic measurements, material inventory, and reporting progress. Qualifications Experience in metal building erection, structural steel installation, or general construction, including use of hand and power tools and working at heights. Bilingual candidates are highly encouraged to apply. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and basic layout measurements; familiarity with building codes and safety standards is beneficial. Strong awareness of job-site safety, including use of PPE, fall protection, and safe lifting practices; OSHA training or equivalent is a plus. Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, climbing, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Reliable transportation to job sites and willingness to travel as needed. Effective teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to follow instructions, ask clarifying questions, and coordinate tasks with crew members.
