Job Summary: Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse (RN) Phoenix, Arizona. The organization is seeking an RN for bed placement responsibilities in an acute care setting. This role focuses on placing patients into the appropriate units at assigned facilities using critical thinking to ensure bed requests are appropriate and communicating concerns to charge or leadership when needed. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts; 3 days a week (6:30 AM7:00 AM); minimum 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; demonstrated recent acute care experience; experience with TeleTracking; experience with Cerner; strong computer skills (preference for Zoom and Google applications); ability to multitask and provide strong customer service; knowledge of differences between units/departments (e.g., MedSurg vs. Tele).
• Preferred Qualifications: Two years of recent acute care experience preferred.
• Responsibilities: Place patients on the appropriate units at assigned facilities based on bed/placement needs; use critical thinking to address bed request mismatches and communicate issues to charge or leadership; utilize multiple applications/screens (including TeleTracking and Cerner) and relevant communication tools with emergency department and leadership/others involved in bed coordination; no recommendations, treatment plans, or diagnoses are provided; collaborate with charge/leadership if placement issues arise.
• Weekend Requirements: 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week period (Days: Saturday and Sunday; Nights: Friday and Saturday).
• Holiday Requirements: Must be able to work holidays if needed (no PTO allowed for holidays).
• Float: Scrub color/dress code flexibility: scrubs in any clean, professional color; casual attire such as jeans without rips/tears/holes and hoodies allowed if clean and without large writing.
• Additional Information: One day of general hospital orientation and 35 days of department orientation (training may occur on any shift). Must complete a required Dys exam through una prior to acceptance within 2448 hours; the exam is pass/fail with 2 attempts (Test A first, Test B for retake). A screenshot showing the number of attempts is required. If the second attempt is failed, the candidate will be disqualified from placement for CommonSpirit-related sites in Arizona and Sacramento.
