Job Title: Sanitation Team Lead

Job Description

The Sanitation Team Lead works hands-on in a food manufacturing environment to oversee and perform sanitation activities across multiple production lines. This role leads a small team of four, assigns line responsibilities, and ensures all equipment and facilities meet strict food safety, quality, and regulatory standards. The Sanitation Team Lead trains and coordinates staff, supports efficient operations, minimizes downtime, and upholds a strong culture of food safety and cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of four sanitation employees across multiple production lines, ensuring clear division of line responsibilities.
• Work hands-on alongside the team to clean and sanitize production equipment, tools, and facility areas in a food manufacturing environment.
• Ensure all sanitation activities meet food safety, regulatory, and company standards, including proper cleaning procedures and chemical usage.
• Coordinate and schedule sanitation tasks to support efficient production operations and minimize downtime.
• Train, coach, and mentor team members on sanitation processes, safety practices, and food safety expectations.
• Monitor the quality and thoroughness of cleaning and sanitizing activities, addressing issues promptly and reinforcing best practices.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records of sanitation activities, inspections, and compliance requirements.
• Promote and enforce safety practices, including the proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to facility safety policies.
• Collaborate with production and quality teams to address sanitation-related issues and support continuous improvement.
• Perform general labor, cleaning, and housekeeping duties as needed to maintain a clean and organized food production environment.

Essential Skills

• Proven leadership and supervision skills, including the ability to direct, motivate, and support a small team.
• Hands-on experience with sanitation processes in a production or food manufacturing setting.
• Strong understanding of food safety principles and food safety compliance requirements.
• Ability to follow and enforce sanitation procedures and safety protocols consistently.
• Experience with documentation and recordkeeping related to sanitation and compliance.
• Capability to perform physical, general labor tasks including cleaning and housekeeping in a production environment.
• Solid communication skills to train and coordinate team members effectively.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and supporting a safety-focused culture.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Patterson, CA.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Patterson,CA.
