Our client is seeking an experienced Second Shift Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance operations and ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient performance of industrial equipment and facilities. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for a mechanically skilled professional who can troubleshoot complex equipment issues, develop maintenance personnel, and minimize production downtime.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in heavy industrial maintenance , with experience in environments such as manufacturing, recycling, scrap metal processing, steel, aggregate, mining, or construction. This position primarily involves working outdoors year-round and requires a leader who prioritizes safety, equipment reliability, and team performance.

• Lead and Develop the Team: Supervise, coach, and mentor second-shift maintenance personnel while assigning work, setting priorities, and promoting accountability.

• Oversee Maintenance Operations: Coordinate preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and minimize unplanned downtime.

• Troubleshoot and Repair Equipment: Oversee maintenance and repairs involving hydraulic and pneumatic systems, conveyors, material handling equipment, mobile machinery, and heavy industrial processing equipment.

• Drive Equipment Reliability: Identify recurring equipment issues, recommend improvements, and collaborate with production teams to maintain operational efficiency.

• Manage Work Orders and Documentation: Maintain accurate maintenance records, track completed repairs, and communicate equipment status and outstanding issues across shifts.

• Enforce Safety Standards: Ensure compliance with company safety procedures, OSHA requirements, and proper Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) practices.

• Promote Continuous Improvement: Conduct safety observations and inspections, investigate equipment damage and near misses, and implement corrective actions.

• High school diploma or GED.

• 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience.

• 2+ years of supervisory, leadership, or maintenance foreman experience.

• Strong working knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, fabrication, and heavy equipment maintenance.

• Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.

• Demonstrated ability to prioritize maintenance activities, lead a team, and coordinate repairs in a fast-paced industrial environment.

• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and respond to equipment emergencies.

• Ability to frequently walk, climb, bend, and kneel, and lift or carry up to 50 pounds.

• Maintenance leadership experience in recycling, scrap metal processing, steel, aggregate, mining, manufacturing, or another heavy industrial environment.

• Experience with large-scale processing equipment, automobile shredders, conveyors, and material handling systems.

• Additional training or certifications in OSHA safety, diesel mechanics, electrical systems, or hydraulics.
