Director of ICU

Our Client | Las Cruces, NM 88011 | Full-Time Permanent | Senior Leadership

THE ROLE

Our client is seeking a Director of ICU for a full-time permanent, direct-hire position in Las Cruces, NM. This is a newly opened senior leadership role with accountability for the strategic, clinical, and operational direction of the Intensive Care Unit. The Director will report in-person to a specific facility location and provide hands-on leadership to nursing and multidisciplinary ICU teams. Candidates must be prepared to relocate and assume the role within 30 45 days of offer acceptance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide executive nursing leadership for all ICU clinical operations and staffing
• Develop and implement policies and protocols aligned with evidence-based critical care standards
• Ensure regulatory compliance, patient safety, and quality improvement across the ICU
• Collaborate with medical staff, administration, and interdisciplinary teams on ICU strategy
• Manage budget, resource allocation, and performance metrics for the unit
• Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing ICU nursing staff

REQUIREMENTS

Must-Have

• Previous leadership experience director or senior nurse manager level
• ICU clinical experience required
• Associate's degree from an accredited nursing school minimum
• NM RN licence or compact licence must obtain NM licence after start if on compact
• Ability to relocate to Las Cruces, NM within 30 45 days

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

• BSN or higher level nursing degree preferred
• Prior Director of ICU or Critical Care leadership experience
