Attorney Position

Seeking an Attorney for its White Plains office to practice primarily in the areas of Education Law, Special Education Law, Labor & Employment Law, and Litigation.

Summary

Seeking an attorney for our White Plains office to practice primarily in the areas of Education Law, Special Education Law, Labor & Employment Law, and Litigation. The attorney will work under the supervision of partners and directly with school district and municipal clients on a broad range of matters, including: general counsel and legal advice; student discipline; special education matters, impartial hearings and appeals; labor and employment issues; board governance and policy matters; administrative proceedings; state and federal litigation.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and admission to the New York State Bar.

• Minimum of one (1) year of legal practice experience required; attorneys with experience are encouraged to apply.

• Strong research, writing, analytical and advocacy skills.

• Excellent negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast paced practice.

• Prior experience in education law, labor and employment law, litigation, municipal law, or local governments is preferred, but not required.

• Ability and willingness to travel across the state to clients' sites, administrative proceedings, board meetings, investigations, hearings, and court appearances. Access to reliable transportation is required.
