Food Runner

Full Time: 35-40 hours/week; night and weekend availability required; PTO and Benefit packages available to qualifying employees

Part Time: Up to 34 hours/week; night or weekend availability required

Role Summary: As a Food Runner you are responsible for working with a team of restaurant professionals to provide outstanding hospitality and service to guests of the Black Cow Bistro

Duties & Expectations: 

• Arrives for scheduled shifts on time and prepared for the day
• Enthusiastically cares for all guests; striving to not only meet their needs, but to find ways to go above and beyond to create positive and memorable dining experiences
• Maintains complete food and beverage menu knowledge, and ability to pass ongoing menu tests
• Basic level knowledge of classic cocktails, beer and wine are expected
• Builds rapport with guests to ensure their regular return to the establishment
• Delivers food and beverage orders to guests, accurately noting allergy information, modifications to menu items, and/or pertinent information about celebrations or other occasions as necessary
• Ability to learn a floor plan and correctly utilize position numbers
• Demonstrates proficiency with restaurant equipment
• Willingness and ability to support service by assisting with bussing and resetting tables, washing and polishing glassware, polishing flatware and dishes, etc
• Ability to delegate to peers and support team to ensure all guest needs are met
• Maintains a clean work environment, and completes sidework duties as outlined

Qualifications: 

• Minimum of (1) year prior experience as a food runner preferred
• Able to follow directions and work well within a team
• Ability to communicate effectively in order to develop and maintain professional relationships with co-workers and guests
• Must possess role-appropriate time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently and with consideration to guest needs
• RAMP certification required; Servsafe certification preferred

Physical Demands: 

• This position is very active and requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, and crouch consistently throughout an 8-10 hour work day
• Must have the ability to lift and move up to 50lbs
