Retail Certified Pharmacy Technician | Riverview, Florida

A pharmacy technician opportunity is available in Clearwater, FL, on a 13-week contract basis with a Monday through Friday schedule, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. This role focuses on retail pharmacy operations, emphasizing processing prescriptions, managing inventory, handling insurance claims, and assisting with medication packaging and shipping within a fast-paced, team-driven environment.


Key Responsibilities:

• Process prescriptions and handle insurance adjudications, including resolving claim rejections.
• Prepare, package, and label medications accurately for pharmacist verification.
• Perform detailed data entry and manage prescription documentation.
• Communicate effectively with patients, prescribers, and internal teams.
• Maintain inventory accuracy through daily cycle counts, restocking, and expiration checks.
• Assist with returns, medication quarantine procedures, and destruction processes.
• Cross-train in various pharmacy functions to support department needs.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and insurance regulations.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED required, with verification of highest education level during screening.
• Current PTCB certification and valid Florida pharmacy technician license in good standing.
• Minimum of 2 years' pharmacy technician experience, preferably in retail; call center experience is a plus.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and comfortable making phone calls.
• Strong multitasking, organizational, and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
