Job Summary:
Medical Surgical (MS) Nurse in Utica, New York. This role involves caring for adult patients with various medical conditions, including stroke, renal issues, COPD, CHF, pneumonia, and pulmonary problems. The position requires flexibility to float across different units, with a focus on adult patient care in a hospital setting.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights shift from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Certifications include current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS). Valid Drivers license matching demographic address is required. Up-to-date resume with at least two years of medical surgical experience, stroke stepdown experience, and documented travel experience. Must possess a current active New York Registered Nurse license and all other active RN licenses. EMR experience with EPIC is required. RTO (request for time off) must be included at the time of submission.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with adult patient demographics in a medical surgical unit, knowledge of specialty equipment such as IV pumps, N/G tubes, and feeding tubes. Experience working with stroke, altered mental status, renal dialysis, COPD, CHF, and other medical conditions.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: Unit specializes in stroke, altered mental status, renal, dialysis, COPD, CHF, isolation, general med surg, pneumonia, and pulmonary issues. The unit has 64 beds and uses EPIC electronic health records. Scrub color is navy blue. The shift involves working nights from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, with block scheduling never promised or guaranteed.
