Data Scientist, Tech Lead

Salary: $150,000 - 200,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a masters degree or higher in a quantitative, technical, or analytical discipline such as Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or an MBA with strong analytical preparation.
• We expect at least 3 years of experience managing data scientists, with ownership of performance development, technical guidance, and project delivery.
• We look for a proven track record of leading cross-functional data initiatives, converting business goals into analytical objectives, and delivering on time.
• We need a solid grasp of data science foundations, including statistical analysis, data preparation, root-cause investigation, and the ability to direct others in these areas.
• We want familiarity with data tools and workflows such as SQL, Pandas, R, and Airflow, with enough fluency to review and support technical contributors.
• We require basic software development capability and hands-on experience with bash, Linux/Unix, and git.
• We value experience communicating complex findings to executive and technical audiences, including presenting insights, trade-offs, and recommendations.
• We look for a history of establishing scalable methods, setting technical standards, and promoting collaboration in fast-paced, analytically rigorous environments.
• Preferred: experience building or scaling high-performing data science teams in production-aware or high-stakes settings.
• Preferred: exposure to financial markets, trading systems, or quantitative research environments.
• Preferred: familiarity with production monitoring systems, data quality pipelines, or analytics platform development.
• Preferred: 7+ years of experience managing data scientists.
• Preferred: experience managing a large team or multiple teams.

• We collaborate with Technical Product Owners in Research and Engineering to define priorities, scope solutions, and deliver actionable insights to stakeholders.
• We own investigations into complex production behaviors and design robust methods to identify, analyze, and communicate system anomalies.
• We mentor and manage junior and mid-level data scientists while providing architectural oversight for data projects.
• We act as a technical authority within the data science function, setting standards for data quality, statistical rigor, and reproducibility.
• We lead the design, development, and deployment of analytical pipelines that monitor and interpret production behavior across trading and research systems, ensuring correctness.
• We champion best practices in data governance, tooling, and collaborative development, including CI/CD, version control, and code reviews.
• We drive ongoing growth and learning by onboarding new Data Scientists, helping teams expand, and fostering curiosity, collaboration, and applied experimentation.
