About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Valid state license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Stepdown and ICU experience required Must be comfortable with floating across units Description: Stepdown unit experience is required. ICU experience is required. Will primarily work in the Stepdown unit, floating to ICU as needed. Will also float to Medical-Surgical units. Floating is required across Stepdown, ICU, and Medical-Surgical units. Patient ratio is 1:4-5. Travel experience is preferred. Scrubs must be royal blue and white. Expect to work some holidays and weekends in rotation with staff. Daily census is approximately 17 patients. The unit has 21 beds with non-titrating drips. Experience with amiodarone, NTG, Cardizem, Lopressor, and Cardene is required. Patients may include those with CHF, COPD, respiratory failure, pneumonia, and cardiac arrhythmias. Special procedures include post catheterization and peritoneal dialysis. Experience in managing high flow nasal cannula and BiPAP is necessary. Experience with telemetry monitoring is required. Candidates must have the ability to manage ports and administer blood products. Management of dysrhythmias is an essential skill for this role. Wound care experience is also required. Candidates should be comfortable with IV starts and maintaining IVs. The environment requires adherence to isolation precautions and PPE protocols. This role involves working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapy and pharmacy.
