Lead Breast MRI Technologist
Location: Rochester, NY Employment Type: Full-Time (Onsite) Schedule: Monday-Friday (No on-call or holiday requirements) Setting: Outpatient Breast Imaging
Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Lead Breast MRI Technologist to lead MRI operations and provide high-quality imaging services to high-risk and newly diagnosed patients. The Lead Technologist will perform breast MRI, assist with MRI-guided biopsies, support MRI staff, and ensure quality, safety, and accreditation standards are maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform breast MRI and assist with MRI-guided biopsies
- Review patient history, contraindications, and preparation requirements
- Prepare weekly MRI staff schedules
- Communicate protocol and policy updates to MRI staff
- Coordinate equipment maintenance and troubleshooting with vendors
- Oversee daily and weekly MRI QC compliance
- Maintain ACR accreditation standards
- Collaborate with radiologists and the High-Risk Manager
- Manage MRI medical supply inventory and ordering
- Maintain a safe, compliant, and patient-focused environment
Requirements:
- Current state licensing/credential
- CPR certification
- MRI certification
- Breast MRI experience required
- Lead or supervisory experience preferred
- Injection certification preferred; training available
- Basic computer skills
- EHR/PACS experience preferred
- Strong communication, leadership, and patient service skills
- Ability to work effectively in a high-volume imaging environment
