Sr. Electrical EngineerSalas O'Brien is looking for an innovative Sr. Electrical Engineer for our Merritt Island, Florida office! Our office in Merritt Island, FL is seeking a Sr. Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic multi-disciplinary project team working on the space coast of Florida. Job Summary: You will be performing work for federal clients across the U.S. and abroad, as well as commercial aerospace clients. We foster a fast-paced, collaborative environment with flexible scheduling, strong upward mobility, and opportunities to work on a wide range of design challenges to develop into a well-rounded engineering leader.Essential Functions:Project planning and design of commercial and industrial power, lighting, communications, fire alarm and security systems (plans, specifications, calculations and cost estimates) for new facilities, equipment and facility modernization projectsAct as discipline technical lead, direct other engineers, and coordinate with other disciplines assigned to the projectPerform detailed cost analyses and material takeoffs of a variety of building types throughout the US and abroadInteract with clients and present designs at milestone reviewsPerform electrical engineering construction management and supportPerform Arc Flash Hazard analysesReview designs and analyses performed by others for compliance with requirements and statement of work agreementsComplete facility condition assessments and capital asset management planningRequirements:Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering required from an ABET-accredited program8 to 10+ years of Electrical Engineering experience specializing in design, maintenance, and/or operation of AC power systems, fire alarm systems, and communications systemsPE License (or ability to obtain)Experience with CAD, Revit, SKM Power Tools for Windows, Easy Power, or other electrical system modeling/drafting softwareProficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OutlookWorking knowledge of the National Electrical CodeEffective interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skillsAbility to provide technical mentorship to engineers with less experience (or aspires to)Ability to solve problems in an effective and timely mannerSelf-directed creativity and innovationHigh attention to detailAdditional Eligibility Qualifications:Current US PassportValid/Unrestricted U.S. driver's licenseWork Authorization/Security Clearance:Must be a US Citizen for Security Clearance requirementsActive/Interim or ability to obtain Secret Security ClearanceLocation: Merritt Island, FLTravel: Travel to US sites and/or international project sites may be required occasionally.
