Job Description
Make a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners as a Special Education Teacher in a contract position spanning the 2024-2025 academic year. Two opportunities are available: one Preschool/LD Teacher and one Teacher for a mild/moderate classroom. This full-time role supports students in developing essential skills in a collaborative, inclusive environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification, with preference for experience in preschool or mild/moderate settings
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and positive learning environment
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with other educators, specialists, and families
- Experience managing average caseloads is a plus
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work full-time on site, supporting students from August 2024 through May 2027
- Develop, implement, and track Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction tailored to student needs
- Collaborate with general educators, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
- Build strong relationships with families to support student learning and progress
- Monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies as necessary
- Maintain accurate records and documentation according to school and state guidelines
