Job Overview Job Type: Permanent Position: Sr. Underwriter, Entertainment Reporting to: AVP Regional Manager – Entertainment Location: Los Angeles, CA Hiscox USA seeks a dynamic, engaging and solution‑oriented Senior Underwriter to lead new property & casualty business and complex renewal business within the Entertainment sector in the West Coast region. The role offers an opportunity to write policies tailored to the specific requirements of the Entertainment sector, covering commercial general liability, property, inland marine, umbrella, auto and workers’ compensation for film, touring bands, theater, venues, equipment rental houses, post‑production facilities, recording studios and talent agents. Responsibilities Underwrite, price and negotiate accounts in line with risk quality and company strategy and guidelines. Develop new broker relationships and deepen existing ones across the West Coast to drive production. Collaborate with the national entertainment team to share and learn best practices. Maintain excellent customer service standards. Monitor product results and propose ideas to increase productivity and profitability. Travel regionally, including industry events and broker visits, as required. Qualifications 7+ years of experience in P&C Middle Market Package coverages; entertainment experience preferred. Customer‑centric mindset with a passion for superior customer service. Strong understanding of sales principles, presentation and negotiation skills, and a competitive drive. Team‑oriented with the ability to collaborate and share information across divisions. Proven track record of delivering meaningful underwriting profit. Outgoing, detail‑focused, results‑oriented mentality. Ability to identify business needs and work independently in a collaborative environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills and service focus to interact with all levels of internal and external customers. B.A./B.S. degree preferred. Willingness to travel throughout the West Coast up to 25%. Salary & Work Arrangement Hybrid role: requires two days in the office each week. Salary range: $100,000 – $145,000, determined by skill, experience and role complexity.
