Food and Beverage ManagerAugusta Country Club - Augusta, GA 30904OverviewPosition Type Full Time Category Restaurant - Food ServiceDescriptionResponsible for food and beverage service for the Club. Directly supervises the lead servers, bartenders, DRAs, and front-line service staff. Responsible for hiring, continued staff development and training. Ensures exemplary private club service standards are maintained by providing exceptional service in a clean and professional environment.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:Maintains a highly visible presence with members, guest, and staff on the floorGreets guests and participate with serviceConducts effective orientation and training for new staffPlans and implements professional development activities for staffSets, trains and maintains service standards for all front-line service staffEnsures that established policies and procedures for club operations are maintained and adhered to by club staffMonitors employee dress codes according to policies and proceduresEnsures that all legal requirements are consistently met. This includes, but is not limited to, federal, state, and/or local laws pertaining to alcoholic beverages and accurate wages and hours for all employees in their purview.Schedule performance reviews for staff at 90 days and annuallyAddresses member and guest complaints and advises the Clubhouse Manager about appropriate corrective actions takenImplement and monitor sanitation and cleaning schedulesMaintains the cleanliness and organization of designated food service and storage areasConducts regular inspections to ensure standards are maintainedInspects to ensure that all safety, sanitation, energy management, preventive maintenance and other standards are consistently met and reports any deficiencies to the Clubhouse Manager or Building SuperintendentDaily sales tickets and banquet billing is accurate and provided to the accounting office in a timely mannerEnsures budgeted expenses and costs are maintained or improved upon, and establishes controls to meet or exceed budgetAudits and approves weekly payroll and ensures it is within established budgets, submits payroll reports to Clubhouse ManagerReports violations by members and guests of club policies and rules to the Clubhouse ManagerOther duties and responsibilities may be assigned by the Clubhouse Manager.Supervisory Responsibilities: Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Managing and maintain beverage and glass inventories.QualificationsQualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
