Staff Pharmacist II

The Department of Pharmaceutical Services provides comprehensive medication services across the UCSF Health System, supporting patient care and clinical pharmacy functions. Responsibilities Obtain and review medication histories and profiles to ensure safe and effective therapy. Provide accurate drug information to patients and healthcare providers. Collaborate with clinicians on drug selection and therapeutic plans. Ensure patients have access to required medications and understand their proper use. Educate patients about cautions, adverse reactions, and drug interactions. Oversee pharmacy technicians in tasks such as insurance authorization, prescription preparation, and dispensing. Manage clinical activities and deliver pharmaceutical services within inpatient and other acute care settings. Participate as a member of an interprofessional team, including physicians, advanced practice providers, and nurses. Maintain flexibility to work at various UCSF Health locations as operational needs arise. Required Qualifications Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree or equivalent, as determined by the National Board of Pharmacy. Current pharmacy license in good standing in the State of California. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association. Preferred Qualifications Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Residency or at least 3 years of inpatient/operational pharmacy experience.
