Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit

JOB SUMMARY The Registered Nurse – Intensive Care Unit (ICU) provides specialized nursing care to critically ill patients requiring close monitoring and advanced medical interventions. This role demands strong clinical expertise, quick decision-making, and the ability to deliver compassionate care in a high-acuity environment while collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary teams. Key Responsibilities Deliver direct patient care in the ICU, including assessment, monitoring, and treatment of critically ill patients. Administer medications, IV therapies, and advanced interventions as prescribed. Operate and monitor life-support equipment such as ventilators and cardiac monitors. Respond rapidly to changes in patient condition and initiate emergency interventions. Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans. Educate patients’ families on treatment plans, recovery expectations, and ongoing care needs. Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to ICU nursing best practices. Required Qualifications Current Registered Nurse (RN) license. Strong knowledge of critical care nursing practices and protocols. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Physical stamina to manage demanding ICU care situations. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Prior experience in ICU or critical care nursing. Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems. Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
