The Senior Technician Production – Flowcell Assembler plays a key role in building and assembling complex diagnostic instruments that directly support patient care worldwide. Working primarily under a microscope, this role focuses on complex mechanical and electronic assembly, module-level testing, and troubleshooting of DxH systems in a regulated manufacturing environment. The position initially supports production and training activities in Miami, FL, with extended travel, and then transitions to long-term production support in Chaska, MN, where the technician will also serve as a technical resource and trainer for new associates as production ramps up in 2027.
Responsibilities
- Perform complex assembly of diagnostic instruments and flowcells using a microscope, following detailed SOPs, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
- Execute module-level testing of DxH systems to ensure performance, reliability, and compliance with quality standards.
- Complete work orders accurately and on time to maintain production flow and meet due-date and delivery commitments.
- Maintain high quality standards at all times in a regulated manufacturing environment, adhering strictly to FDA, ISO, and other regulatory requirements.
- Troubleshoot assembly and test issues independently, escalating when necessary and partnering with Engineering and Quality teams to resolve problems.
- Review and maintain batch records, training records, and production documentation with high attention to detail and compliance.
- Participate in daily management activities, including communicating priorities, progress, and issues to leads and cross-functional partners.
- Support continuous improvement and daily management practices by identifying opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and quality.
- Collaborate closely with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to ensure smooth integration, build, and testing of instruments.
- Assist with training, mentoring, and onboarding of fellow associates, particularly during the hiring ramp planned for January 2027 as the DxH line transitions to Chaska, MN.
- Support a safe, organized, and efficient production floor by following safety procedures, maintaining a clean work area, and using equipment properly.
- Follow a rotational travel schedule between Miami, FL and Chaska, MN to support production continuity and knowledge transfer until training objectives are met.
- Use digital work instructions and electronic records to complete tasks, record results, and document production activities.
- Demonstrate professional, collaborative behavior on the manufacturing floor and actively support team goals and continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Skills
- 5+ years of hands-on manufacturing or production technician experience.
- Senior-level experience with complex mechanical and electronic assembly in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Experience using microscopes for precision assembly work.
- Strong discipline in following SOPs, work instructions, and engineering drawings in a regulated environment.
- Independent troubleshooting capability for assembly and test issues.
- Production mindset with a strong focus on both quality and on-time delivery.
- Ability to work collaboratively on a production floor and communicate clearly with peers, leads, and cross-functional partners.
- Openness to receiving and applying feedback while supporting team goals and continuous improvement.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Comfort with Windows operating systems and digital work instructions and electronic records.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods as required by the role.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds safely.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to approximately 75% during the first year for training in Miami, FL.
- Ability to maintain accurate batch records, training records, and production documentation in a regulated environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in a regulated environment such as FDA, ISO, medical devices, or diagnostics manufacturing.
- Experience with mechanical assembly, electronic assembly, electrical assembly, wiring, tubing, integration, and machine building.
- Experience with batch record review in a regulated manufacturing setting.
- Experience with final test execution for instruments or complex systems.
- Background in instrument verification or validation activities.
- Experience working in continuous improvement environments.
- Ability to mentor, train, or support less-experienced technicians.
- Demonstrated collaborative, professional behavior on a manufacturing floor.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy in a regulated setting.

Work Environment
This role is based in a regulated manufacturing environment with clean, climate-controlled, and well-lit work areas. You will work primarily on-site in Chaska, MN, with extended rotational travel to Miami, FL during the initial training and knowledge transfer period. The rotational schedule typically consists of two weeks in Miami followed by one week in Chaska, continuing until training objectives are met around late summer. While in Chaska, the standard schedule is Monday through Thursday from 5:45 AM to 4:15 PM, offering a four-day workweek. In Miami, the schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:10 AM to 3:40 PM. Each technician has an individual workstation and spends approximately 80% of the time standing at a workstation, 15% walking, and up to 5% sitting. Work involves extensive use of microscopes and handling of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components in a structured, regulated setting. All travel related to the role is fully funded, including lodging, transportation, and related costs, with a daily food per diem while traveling.
