This role involves performing various maintenance tasks, assisting with repairs, and ensuring that the school environment remains safe, and conducive to learning.ResponsibilitiesConduct routine inspections of buildings and grounds to identify maintenance needsPerform basic repairs and maintenance tasksMaintain organization in all school facilities and common areasAssist in the setup and take-down of equipment for school events and activitiesRespond to maintenance requests from faculty and staff in a timely mannerEnsure compliance with safety regulations and school policies during all maintenance activitiesCollaborate with external contractors for larger repair projects, when requiredMaintain accurate records of maintenance activities and completed work ordersAssist with seasonal maintenance tasks, such as flood prevention/reaction and hurricane preparednessQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredPrevious experience in a maintenance role or related field is a plusBasic knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, is a plusSpanish is a plusStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailExcellent communication and customer service skillsMust be able to work independently as well as part of a teamMust be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, overtime as neededPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift and carry heavy objects, typically up to 50 pounds, such as equipment, tools, and suppliesFrequent standing, walking, and moving throughout the campus for extended periods, often on uneven surfacesAbility to bend, squat, kneel, and crouch to perform repairs, and maintenance tasksCapability to climb ladders and scaffolding to access high areas for maintenance and repairsEndurance to perform physically demanding tasks throughout the workday, which may include lifting, pushing, or pulling heavy itemsGood balance and coordination to safely navigate various work environments, including stairways and laddersAble to work in both indoor and outdoor environments for extended periods of time.We offer a comprehensive compensation package that includes competitive salary, benefits, professional development, opportunity for growth and more.
