Answering Service Attendant - Varied - Green

This is a full-time, benefit eligible position located at Scripps Green Hospital in La Jolla. The position will be Thursday-Monday with varied afternoon hours, including weekends and holidays. The Answering Service Attendant answers calls and routine inquiries, routing to intended destination. Appropriately responds to and documents emergency situations, per policy and guidelines. Acts as part of a team, including training new employees. Pages physicians, security or employees as appropriate via radio, pagers, computer, or overhead PA system. Follows all documentation procedures. Completes additional tasks such as sorting and mailing messages during downtime, delivering messages to physician offices, and completing and distributing daily sheets. After physician office hours, answers and documents patient calls, contacting appropriate on-call physician as necessary. Maintains physician on-call schedules at each workstation, in on-call change book and current monthly schedules. Qualifications Required Experience / Specialized Skills: Strong customer service skills, computer skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment using repetitive hand motion with the ability to multi-task. Preferred Education / Experience / Specialized Skills / Certification: Medical terminology, healthcare experience, and Call Center/PBX/Answering Service experience.
