Key Responsibilities

• Provide care for fully recovered post-operative patients in a PACU Extended Stay / Holding setting while awaiting disposition (discharge or inpatient bed placement)
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmias, and manage dysrhythmia events appropriately
• Manage peripheral IV lines, initiate and maintain IVs, and adhere to Heparin protocols
• Administer oxygen therapy via nasal cannula and perform non-invasive airway management
• Utilize Rapid Response and Code teams as clinically indicated and maintain isolation precautions and PPE compliance
• Float to Medical Surgical unit on a PRN basis as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State Registered Nurse license required and must be in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Proficiency with Epic EMR is a hard requirement
• Demonstrated skills in cardiac telemetry monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, phlebotomy, and total joint replacement patient care
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior post-operative or PACU experience strongly preferred
• Experience caring for orthopedic, neurological, gynecological, and general surgery patient populations
• Comfort with observation-status patients and managing patient flow and disposition coordination
