Travel Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)

Travel Speech Language Pathologist 3–month travel assignment in Tacoma, Washington. Company and Location Fusion Medical Staffing – Facility in Tacoma, Washington. Summary The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) evaluates, diagnoses, and treats communication and swallowing disorders in patients of all ages. The SLP develops individualized treatment plans, collaborates with interdisciplinary teams and caregivers, and maintains detailed documentation to improve speech, language, and cognitive-communication outcomes. Responsibilities Use standardized assessments and clinical observation to evaluate speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders. Design personalized therapy programs based on evaluation findings, patient goals, and evidence-based practices. Continuously assess patient progress, adjust treatment plans, and maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record. Educate patients, families, and caregivers on communication strategies, home exercises, and safe swallowing practices, providing supportive counseling as needed. Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care. Maintain a safe treatment environment by following infection control, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards. Participate in quality assurance initiatives and professional development activities to stay current with best practices. Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice. Qualifications Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in compliance with state regulations. Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC). Master’s Degree or higher in Speech Language Pathology (preferred). Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (preferred). Experience in speech-language pathology (new graduates welcome). Additional certifications or licenses may be required for this position. Required Essential Skills Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication skills. Proficient reading and written communication in English. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and basic PC proficiency. Physical Demands Remain stationary, move about, and transfer equipment (50‑100 lbs). Push, pull, and bend as necessary. Interpersonal Skills Work effectively with diverse personnel in a positive, professional manner. Technical/Motor Skills Fine manipulation and movement assistance during procedures and equipment use. Mental Requirements Handle frequent public interaction and meet deadlines under pressure. Work independently or under periodic close supervision.
