Description of Work SALARY RANGE: $25.00 - $25.00 Per Hour This position is temporary, part time, 20 hours per week. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Management Preferences The Capital Defender's Office is seeking a qualified candidate to assist staff with office processes to include but not limited to opening of new cases; processing of appointments and expert funding requests. office management practices and procedures used to organize and maintain the office court system practices, forms and procedures to respond to questions as they arise NC General Statutes related to criminal defense general office computer software and hardware computer technology audio-visual equipment digital files MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint explain office procedures to judicial personnel and the public analyze and interpret information and make necessary decisions with accuracy prepare forms and legal documents transcribe material in prescribed format with a high degree of accuracy using proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling to produce legal documents work well with others organize and complete work by specific guidelines work independently Minimum Education and Experience High school diploma and three (3) years of legal clerical experience; or completion of a two-year legal Secretarial Science or Business Administration Associate Degree and one (1) year of responsible legal secretarial experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
