POSITION SUMMARY

The Plant Operations Assistant, under the direction of the Production Supervisor, is responsible for

operating manufacturing/packaging equipment, which includes equipment set-up, checking for quality

of product, and meeting production schedules. This is a direct hire, not a temporary position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

,

Operate conveyor, shrink-wrap, , and bagging equipment

Hanging and sealing bags of product

Filling and sealing shaker bottles of product

Bag product with the correct blend to the required weight level

Place product on pallets according to specifications

Assist with maintaining equipment, a which includes cleaning out production equipment and lines

Maintain a clean and safe work area

Performs other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

High school diploma or equivalent

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Basic math skills

Demonstrated ability to operate various types of machinery and equipment

Mechanical and technical skills with exceptional problem-solving abilities

Must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors

Must be able to work independently and in a team environment

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION

TALKING:  Ability to speak effectively and communicate clearly.

AVERAGE HEARING: Ability to hear average conversations.

REPETITIVE MOTION:  The employee is regularly required to stand, sit, bend, kneel, squat, stack, lift, and walk for long periods of time.

FINGER DEXTERITY: The employee is regularly required to use their hands to handle equipment and tools.

AVERAGE VISION: Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Manufacturing environment - exposure to heat and cold, along with humid conditions and dust.

MENTAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION

REASONING ABILITY:  Ability to deal with a variety of variables under only limited standardization.

MATHEMATICS ABILITY: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers and common fractions.

LANGUAGE ABILITY:  Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents. Ability to communicate clearly.
