Position Location This position will be located onsite in Gulfport, Mississippi. Job Overview At Gulfport Job Corps Center, we’re looking for an energetic, compassionate, and driven Admissions Counselor to help connect young adults with education, career training, and a brighter future. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on building relationships, encouraging others, and making a real impact in their community. For over 60 years, Job Corps has helped young people ages 16-24 achieve successful careers in some of the country’s fastest-growing industries. Administered by the U.S. Department of Labor, Job Corps is a part of the nation’s largest career technical training and education program. The salary for this position is $44,000. Because this is a fixed contract, we are unable to negotiate the salary at this time. Responsibilities Recruit and engage eligible youth through schools, community organizations, workforce agencies, and outreach events Conduct interviews and determine applicant eligibility for the Job Corps program Educate applicants and families about program expectations, career pathways, and student opportunities Assist students with career planning and goal development Build strong community partnerships and referral networks Support student retention and success during the enrollment process and first 90 days on center Maintain accurate documentation and case management records What You Bring: Passion about helping young people succeed Ability to build strong relationships Organized, self‑motivated, and able to work independently Skilled in communication, outreach, counseling, or recruitment Excellent verbal and written communication skills A positive, student‑centered attitude and strong customer service skills Dependability, initiative, and teamwork Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook Successfully pass any background check and/drug test Ability to obtain & maintain valid Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, communications, social sciences, or related field Associate’s degree plus related experience may be considered Experience in sales, marketing, counseling, recruiting, workforce development, or youth services preferred Valid driver’s license required Previous Job Corps experience is a plus Disclosures Chugach Government Solutions is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
