Base pay range $90,000.00/yr – $140,000.00/yr Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for an Accounting Manager for a FULL TIME assignment with one of our premier Architecture, Engineering and Construction clients in Holmdel NJ, Mt. Laurel NJ, Charlotte NC, Seattle, WA or Phoenix AZ. This role is hybrid, 3 days in office, 2 remote. In this role, you'll play a pivotal part in strengthening our accounting processes, supporting strategic initiatives, and partnering with leaders across the company to guide smart decision‑making. To be successful in this position, you are required to bring hands‑on experience with BST or Deltek, a strong working knowledge of FAR/CAS, and a proven accounting background within the AEC industry. Responsibilities Play a key role in the month‑end and year‑end close processes. Own GL maintenance, account reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries. Partner with Finance and other departments to ensure the financial story is complete by addressing and resolving accounting‑related inquiries. Supervise a team of accountants – coach, support, and develop their growth. Analyze expense accounts, proactively identifying trends, discrepancies, and areas for cost optimization. Identify ways to automate, optimize, and improve financial operations. Coordinate with auditors and internal staff during financial statement and overhead audits. Support acquisition due diligence, data consolidation and integration activities, as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance (CPA preferred). Minimum 5+ years of progressive accounting experience within organizations generating $100 million or more in annual revenue required. At least 2 years of remote leadership and people management experience required. BST or Deltek experience preferred. Solid understanding of US GAAP and sound internal controls. Tech‑savvy – strong with Excel, ERP systems, BI analytics, workflow automation. Prior experience in the A/E/C industry required. FAR/CAS accounting experience preferred. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain accounting concepts to non‑accountants. Demonstrated ability to lead with integrity, prioritize effectively, and thrive in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment. Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job‑related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
