Step into a fulfilling contract opportunity supporting students with complex needs in a school-based role! This full-time speech-language pathologist assignment covers a maternity leave for the 2026/2027 school year from August 12th to November 1st. Based near North Haven, CT, you’ll make an impact working with a population that includes students with significant autism spectrum disorder and other disabilities.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology and active state licensure
- Prior experience in school-based settings, particularly with K-12 students
- Demonstrated expertise working with children with complex needs—including ASD and developmental disabilities
- Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation abilities
- Ability to implement IEPs and adapt strategies to meet diverse learning needs
- Flexibility and compassion to navigate a dynamic educational environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations for students requiring SLP services
- Develop, implement, and track individualized goals and treatment plans
- Provide direct and consultative therapy to students with significant support needs
- Collaborate closely with special education teachers, support staff, and families
- Maintain accurate, compliant documentation and progress notes
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute insights for ongoing student success
